I am trying to configure an OPC Server from RSLinx . I have the gateway version and have the correct topic configuration etc. I am unable to connect to the OPC server from any client.
I have installed Matrikon tunneler in order to bypass the DCOM security settings and I can access the OPC server from the client. I have set all the DCOM settings to the best of my knowledge but still have no joy. Can anyone help.

You may find useful informations about OPC and DCOM in the following KB Technotes:
Also from OPC Training Institute at this LINK.
Hope this helps....

Hi thanks for the reply but I am haviong difficulty reasing any of the links you advised me to read. Even though I have a Tech connect contract every posting on this site says that it is not available and is being updated . I am rapidly loosing faith in rockwell support as everything I have tried to do with it over the last two weeks has turned out to be nothing short of a major headache.
Can you advise on what I may be doing wrong as noone in rockwell seems willing or able to help.

There are some boards/technotes that require you to have a support contract with Rockwell to see them.
If you already have a TechConnect support contract, you can put your authorization number directly into your profile and the boards/technotes will become immediately available.
See this post in the Welcome section for more information.
Also, write a PM to JHutch, a moderator of this Forum, and he will check for you what's wrong with your TechConnect.
Hope this helps...

I just check and you have access. If you still having trouble with fuzzy's links, check to make sure you are logged in AND that you haven't disabled cookies on your machine. The system uses a cookie to tell whether you are logged in or not from page to page. If cookies are disabled, it can't tell you are logged in when you open a new window.

I was trying to access the KB articles that you reference, but the web page tells me that they are locked. An ideas?

I am logged into the system, cookies are enabled, I have a TechConnect contract and I have entered the authorization code into my profile. But I still cannot get to the knowledge base articles that you reference. Any clues or suggestions?

This is a check that could be done by a Moderator; anyway the first technote I was suggesting is really locked, maybe the Moderator has an answer also to this... ![]()
The second technote is instead ok, and if you have a TechConnect Contract and the settings are ok on the profile, you have to be able to see it.

AID 2751 was removed by TechSupport. The explanation in the log is that the data is no longer correct/out of date.
